Jasmin Wölke facilitates workshops, strategy retreats and leadership sessions in Linz, in English and in German. As an external moderator with no stake in the outcome, she guides the team through the day and secures what has been decided.
When plant and release plan at the same table
The Linz economy runs at two speeds. A plant in the steel or chemical world is designed for decades, a plant engineering project for years; the city's software side works in releases and quarters, and the Johannes Kepler University adds research with time horizons of its own. When a leadership team from this environment goes into retreat, both rhythms sit at the table: digitalising production, new business models alongside the core business, investments committed today and judged only years from now. Questions like these are not settled over coffee. They need a frame in which uncomfortable positions reach the table and something solid stands at the end.
Leading neutrally, pinning down decisions
Jasmin's role is that of the impartial chair. Before the date, she clarifies the decision question: what is genuinely up for debate, and what is already fixed? Where tension is expected, she holds short one-on-one conversations with key people in advance. On the day itself, she keeps analysis and decision apart, makes interim results visible to everyone and leaves no point half-finished: every decision gets an owner and a deadline and is recorded before the group moves on. This way of working is grounded in formats such as the SAP Top Leadership Forum, a corporate reference from the leadership circle of a global company. When international executives take part, she facilitates entirely in English or in a planned alternation.
Rooms at a distance from daily business
For a retreat, it pays to leave the company building, so nobody slips back into daily business between two blocks. Linz offers conference hotels in the city, quiet houses in the surrounding countryside and, with the Pöstlingberg, a setting above the city that literally widens the view. The Tabakfabrik also works well for sessions meant to have a deliberate workshop character. Jasmin travels from Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart the day before, so the first working block starts without travel risk. Whether an external facilitator is the right step is discussed in the article when does an external moderator make sense. The format is described by the hub workshop moderation, and all Linz engagements by the Linz city page.
