Berlin conferences are unlike any other
Berlin hosts federal politics, ministries and most national industry associations, next to Europe's largest startup scene. Conferences here mix audiences that rarely share a room elsewhere: experts, association members, political guests, international partners. Programmes tend to be denser than in other cities, and on stage positions are allowed to clash.
The venues range from the bcc at Alexanderplatz and the CityCube of Messe Berlin to the Axica by the Brandenburg Gate and the Estrel Congress Center. The congress season concentrates in spring and autumn, in the same weeks as trade fairs and political events. If you convene then, secure host and rooms early.
Neutral guidance when interests collide
At association and policy-related conferences in particular, the moderator is not a mouthpiece but a neutral instance. Jasmin keeps speaking times fair, asks the follow-up questions the audience would ask, and summarises so that every side recognises itself. She runs Q&A sessions so that real questions get through and the day stays on schedule.
Preparation starts with the programme: she works through agenda, topics and speakers, clarifies the conference goal in the briefing and, for technical topics, talks to individual speakers in advance.
