Jasmin Wölke chairs conferences and conventions in Cologne, in German and English, from a one-day expert conference to a multi-day programme. At the Digital Transformation Conference she hosted three days with more than 600 participants and 20 speakers, bilingually.
Conference venues from the Gürzenich to the Mülheim harbour
Cologne offers conference locations with very different characters: the Gürzenich, the city's historic festival hall, for prestigious conventions, the Congress-Centrum Nord right by the Koelnmesse fairground, KOMED in the MediaPark for media and digital formats, Dock.One in the Mülheim harbour for contemporary conferences and the Flora for conferences with a festive close. The calendar matters too: Koelnmesse trade fair weeks and the carnival season from 11 November onwards tie up venues, hotels and suppliers early. Anyone holding a conference in autumn or winter secures rooms and moderation months ahead.
An audience that joins in and still judges
Cologne's conference rooms are filled by the industries that shape the city: media and TV around RTL and WDR, insurance, retail with the REWE Group, plus gaming and the Ford plants. The audience is famously open and warm; it engages quickly and forgives very little boredom. For a conference that means the moderation can use the Rhenish energy, but must stay with the content. Q&A rounds come alive here if you let them, and that is exactly when they need someone who steers them instead of letting them drift.

Before every conference Jasmin works through the agenda and topics, clarifies the goal in a briefing and, for expert programmes, speaks with individual speakers in advance. On stage she remains a neutral chair: she keeps speaking times fair, sums up positions so that every side recognises itself and brings the programme to a punctual close. She hosted the SAP Tech Leadership Forum entirely in English, with eight panels in front of more than 300 executives. Both are corporate references, not Cologne events; they show the scale she carries as lead moderator.
