From the bcc to the Estrel
Berlin hosts more congresses than any other German city, and its venues cover every format. The bcc at Alexanderplatz stands for the classic association congress in a central location. The CityCube on the exhibition grounds takes large programmes with an integrated expo. The Estrel Congress Center offers capacity for several thousand participants, while the Axica right at Brandenburg Gate gives smaller congresses a representative address. STATION Berlin and the Tempodrom suit programmes that deliberately avoid the congress centre look. The venue shapes the dramaturgy, which is why Jasmin asks about it early in the briefing.
Congresses in the rhythm of the capital
Berlin is home to federal politics and many national associations, plus Europe's largest startup scene, tech, media, energy and healthcare. The audiences are mixed accordingly: members and staff, specialists, members of parliament, press. Many congresses open with a political greeting that has to start and end on time. Jasmin keeps that beat, stays neutral on contested topics and translates expert debates so the whole room can follow. She brings experience with formats for ministries, tech companies and scale-ups. On international programmes she switches between English and German without telling anything twice.
Three days, one arc
A multi day congress quickly loses its centre: tracks run in parallel, speakers drop out, the evening programme follows its own logic. Jasmin anchors the main stage as the constant. She opens each day with its own framing, brings results from the sessions back into the plenary and closes with a look at the next morning. The Digital Transformation Conference is a corporate reference, not a Berlin event. Yet it shows exactly this work: three days, 20 speakers, plenty of last minute changes and still one arc. That is why every congress day starts with an alignment between show caller and event management.
Calendar, travel, booking
Berlin's congress season concentrates in spring and autumn. Trade fair weeks such as IFA in September or ITB in March fill the hotels on top, and political dates add pressure.
