Jasmin Wölke moderates strategy events: strategy days, transformation events and strategy offsites, in English and German. After more than ten years in leadership roles at Bosch, SAP and Volkswagen, she knows the language of these days from the inside.
A strategy event has two audiences
In the room sit the people who wrote the strategy and the people who are supposed to deliver it. One group knows every slide; the other hears much of it for the first time. Good moderation translates between the two: it makes sure the message lands before enthusiasm is demanded. On stage, Jasmin asks the questions the audience does not dare to ask. What does the new target picture mean for this site, for this team, for the next quarter? Only once those questions are answered does the momentum hold.
From the numbers block to execution
Many strategy days consist of one long slide deck: market situation, target picture, roadmap, applause. Jasmin builds a dramaturgy with the organiser that breaks this up. The numbers come compactly at the start; after that, the stage and the microphone belong to questions, examples and the people who will deliver. Short moderated conversations with unit leaders show what the strategy changes in practice. If part of the day is meant to be worked out in a small group, the craft of the workshop moderation page applies.
Confidentiality is the basis of the work
At strategy events, things are said that must not leave the room: portfolio decisions, target markets, sometimes people topics. Jasmin works there as an external professional with a clear frame. She signs a non-disclosure agreement on request, receives documents as early as necessary and as limited as possible, and aligns sensitive passages with communications beforehand. Her corporate years help twice over: she understands the content quickly, and she knows which sentences cause damage if they end up in a summary later.
Strategy event, workshop or leadership conference?
The boundaries are fluid; the preparation is not. A strategy event communicates a direction to a larger circle. A workshop produces results in a small group. A leadership conference gathers management across several topics, as described on the leadership event page. Jasmin helps sharpen the format in the first call. The SAP Tech Leadership Forum on digital transformation, which she hosted, is listed under references.
