Celebrations that bring generations together
Companies in Bielefeld celebrate differently than in corporate headquarters cities: many firms in the region have been family owned for generations, and at an anniversary there are people in the room whose parents already worked for the same company. A staff celebration here carries company history, not just a programme. Add to that a workforce that rarely meets in daily life: production and sales, construction site and office, care work and administration, and at machine builders and SAP consultancies also English speaking colleagues. Often the celebration is the one date in the year when everyone stands in a single room. An official part that carries instead of braking
The lesson from many staff events: 30 to 45 minutes of official programme are enough when they are well built. A speech by the management, tributes, a look ahead, and then the evening belongs to the conversations. Jasmin tightens speaker lists in advance, prepares tributes with one personal sentence per person and keeps the energy in the room instead of administering it. At the Bosch Global Sales Summit, a corporate reference with more than 500 participants from 40 countries, she turned a very mixed audience into one shared room. She does the same work at a smaller scale: for one evening, departments become one company.
Venues from the production hall to the listed monument
The city offers unusual character for company celebrations: the Lokschuppen with its industrial atmosphere, the listed Hechelei in the Ravensberger Park, the Stadthalle for large formats, summer receptions by the Sparrenburg and offsites with the Teutoburg Forest at the doorstep.
