At a specialist event, the content is the star

A symposium, an expert forum or an industry gathering lives on its talks. The audience is made up of professionals who came to learn something they can apply on Monday. A host who pushes herself into the spotlight only gets in the way. What the day needs is the opposite: a voice that structures a dense programme, connects one talk to the next and helps the room keep the thread. There is no need for show elements. There is a real need for precision, good questions and discipline with the clock.

Translating expert depth without replacing it

The host does not have to be the leading expert in the room. That role belongs to the speakers, and it stays there. Her job is different: asking the questions the audience is thinking, capturing the core message after each talk and building transitions that carry meaning. A room reacts differently after a talk on regulation than after a product deep dive. Jasmin listens, summarises and opens the discussion exactly where it sticks. That way a reserved expert audience gets its questions on stage, not just the three frequent talkers in the front row.

Preparation: programme, terminology, names

Before the event, Jasmin works through the agenda and the topics. With the programme owners she clarifies goals, running order and sensitive points. With speakers she holds short preparatory calls so introductions are accurate and follow-up questions land. Technical terms and names are settled in advance; nothing gets guessed on stage. Her foundation is more than ten years in leadership roles at Bosch, SAP and Volkswagen: she knows topics like technology, transformation and sales from her own work, not just from a briefing document. How a panel inside the event is prepared is described on the panel discussion page.

Symposium, expert forum, industry event: formats and languages

Typical assignments: the symposium of a professional society, a company's expert forum for customers and partners, the industry event of an association or publisher. Many of these formats have international line-ups, so Jasmin hosts in English, in German or switching between both, as described on the bilingual moderation page. For the classic one day conference there is the conference moderation page. All projects are listed under references.

Frequently asked questions

What does moderation for a specialist event cost?
It depends on duration and preparation. A half day forum is priced differently from a full day symposium with a panel and an evening programme. After the first call you receive a written offer with travel costs listed separately.
Does the host need to come from our industry?
No. The expert authority stays with the speakers. The host needs enough understanding to ask smart questions and put statements into context. For that, Jasmin works through the topic and the vocabulary before every event and clarifies open points with your experts.
Does she also moderate the discussion rounds in the programme?
Yes. Discussion rounds and panels are usually part of a specialist event. She prepares them with her own preparatory calls and runs them so that disagreement becomes audible without the round falling apart.
Can the event run in English?
Yes. Jasmin moderates in English, in German or bilingually. With international speakers and a German audience, bilingual hosting makes sure nobody just listens without understanding.
How does she handle a very dense programme?
With clear agreements in advance and firm timekeeping on stage. She protects speaking slots, shortens elegantly where needed and defends the breaks. A dense programme rarely fails on content; it usually fails on timing.
How much lead time does a booking need?
Two to four months are comfortable for a specialist event with preparatory calls. Compact formats work on shorter notice if the date is free. An enquiry with date, place and topic is enough.
