Jasmin Wölke moderates galas in Wuppertal: award ceremonies, company anniversaries and festive evenings, in German and English. She gives the evening one clear thread, so that honours, speeches and programme feel like a whole rather than a sequence of numbers.
From the Great Hall to the Gaskessel
The Historische Stadthalle on the Johannisberg is the first address for festive evenings in Wuppertal: the Great Hall with its famous acoustics for large galas, the Mendelssohn-Saal for award ceremonies in a smaller circle. The Gaskessel in Heckinghausen, an industrial monument with the Visiodrom, sets a completely different scene, the Von der Heydt-Museum carries receptions in a museum setting, and the historic halls at the zoo suit anniversaries with a long guest list. For a small reception you can even charter the Kaiserwagen, the historic carriage of the suspension railway. Each of these rooms demands its own dramaturgy: what sounds ceremonial in the Great Hall can feel stiff in the Gaskessel. Jasmin therefore plans tone, pace and walking routes per venue, together with the technical crew and the production team.
Honours with a reason for the applause
Galas in Wuppertal often celebrate decades: family businesses honour long serving employees, associations present awards, an anniversary tells company history across generations. The honours are then the core of the evening, not the obligatory block between main course and dessert. Before the gala, Jasmin collects a few sentences of context on every person: what they achieved, why the award goes to them, how their name is pronounced correctly. On stage, every honour gets its own moment without the evening losing momentum. Between the blocks she keeps the schedule, so that kitchen, show acts and speeches interlock instead of piling up.
Experience with festive formats
Jasmin Wölke spent more than ten years inside corporations, at Bosch, SAP and Volkswagen, and today moderates festive formats for companies and associations. At the Leadership Excellence Awards, a corporate reference with 250 guests and ten awards, she led an evening in which every award had its moment and the schedule still held. How such an evening is built in detail is explained in How an award ceremony runs. More about the format is on the hub Gala moderator, and all pages about the city are collected on the Wuppertal city page.
